George I.

George Inderkum currently resides here at Carefree. He remembers when the land Carefree is built on was once a rice field. George has 2 children, 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He is the son of Frank and Lilian Inderkum. Inderkum High School was named in recognition of Frank Inderkum, for his outstanding contribution to Sacramento County and the Natomas community.

Frank Inderkum resided in the Natomas area since 1905. Throughout his lifetime, he was a well-respected dairy farmer in the Natomas community delivering milk to homes and schools. His generosity touched the lives of many. He valued every employee equally and appreciated everything they did. His wife, Lilian, was on the Natomas School Board in the 1930’s. Mr. Inderkum was on the County Fair Board from 1945 until 1957. He and his wife had 3 children, Bill, Margaret and our friend, George.
